5. Clay Coasters
Making clay coasters is a practical and stylish way to protect your furniture. Materials include air dry clay, rolling pin, circular cookie cutters or a knife, and acrylic paints. Knead the clay thoroughly and roll it out to about 0.5 centimeters thickness. Cut out circles or squares for each coaster. You can add textures with stamps, leaves, or other patterns by gently pressing them into the clay.
Allow the coasters to dry for 24 hours or longer for thicker pieces. Once dry, sand the edges and paint with your chosen designs. Finish with a clear varnish for durability and water resistance. Clay coasters can be customized for holidays, gifts, or home decor. They are easy to make and allow for experimentation with colors and textures. This project is practical and decorative, combining creativity with functionality.
